Artist's Comments

Full view yields physical details of the paint - the oil is raised up in several spots for effect.

This was one of two other paintings completed for my art class two years back. I used a photo I had taken of a friend as reference, and tried to apply a stylized form of oil painting to it. The original photo was black and white, so I was free to pull whatever colours I wanted onto the canvas.

Oil paint on canvas board; please note that the original does have a consistent border around the edges, but this was cut off in spots by my poor attempt to photograph the painting on the ground. For a good example of the border, see the bottom edge of the painting. Size approximately 1 1/2 feet wide.

Slowly fading into nothingness... but what is nothing? How can we know that 'nothingness' exists... if nothing is really anything at all?... live for the sake of living. Cause anything if not nothing is worth living for right?

Thank you! :D I wish you could see this one in person . . . the tones are even more vivid that way. I still haven't quite figure out how to transfer oil to camera yet.
